Rayn_itemdrops – Item Throwing & Placing for ox_inventory

Give dropped items a real presence in the world. Instead of every item turning into the same generic bag, each item gets its own prop, can be thrown with real physics, placed precisely or handed straight to another player – fully synced for everyone.

Features

  • Unique prop for every item – water shows a bottle, a pistol shows the pistol, cash shows a cash pile. Ships with a large ready-made list (1200+ items, weapons, attachments and ammo) that you can freely edit.

  • Hold it in your hand – drag an item to the ground and it appears in your hand, visible to other players.

  • Physics throwing – aim with a live trajectory preview and throw. Everyone nearby sees the item fly and land.

  • Precise placing – a ghost preview shows exactly where the item will go. Rotate it with the scroll wheel and place it on any surface.

  • Hand over – aim at a player and give them the item directly.

  • ox_target pickup – pick up the whole stack or choose an amount. Works reliably even for tiny props like knives or keycards.

  • Configurable lifetime – set a global despawn timer and per-item overrides.

  • Persistent – ground items survive restarts with no database required.

  • Metadata safe – weapon serials, ammo, durability and custom labels are preserved.

  • Optional marker and 3D label above ground items.

  • Routing bucket aware – players only see items in their own bucket.

- Secure – every action is validated server-side (ownership, distance, inventory space, cooldowns, global drop limit), so items cannot be duplicated.

  • Admin cleanup – `/cleardrops [radius]`.

  • Multi-language – English and Polish included, and new languages are easy to add.

No ox_inventory edits

The script hooks into ox_inventory's official `swapItems` hook. You do not need to edit ox_inventory files, and updating ox_inventory will not break it.

 Compatibility

  • Required: ox_lib, ox_inventory, ox_target

  • Frameworks: ESX, QBCore, Qbox, ox_core – anything running ox_inventory

  • Performance: props are only spawned near players (configurable render distance), and ground items are local objects instead of networked entities
